"98-year-old 'Morgan Man"

Kentucky as a Confederate State

 

At a convention located in Russellville, KY on 11/20/1861, Confederate leaders from 64 Kentucky counties seceded from the Union. The state was admitted as the 13th into the Confederate States of America Dec. 10, 1861.

 

Bowling Green was named State Capital, with George W. Johnson as Governor.
