KY Guide: Help - Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives

RLIN AMC is a catalog containing over 400,000 descriptions of archival and manuscript collections from institutions worldwide. Among those are nearly 14,000 descriptions from Kentucky institutions including the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, the Kentucky Historical Society, Western Kentucky University, Transylvania University, Berea College, and many of Kentucky's public libraries, local historical societies, museums, religious archives, and historic sites. These make up what is known as the Kentucky Guide Database.

The entire RLIN AMC file, and within it, the Kentucky Guide Database, is currently searchable through the Library of Congress gateway using the RLIN AMC search form.

To limit searches to the 14,000 descriptions of the Kentucky Guide Database, use one of the following terms as a subject/word in combination with other search terms: "KYSV" limits search to collections of the Kentucky State Archives at the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives "KYSX" limits search to collections in other Kentucky Guide repositories.

By combining, as subject words, "KYSV and marriage and knox" in Term 1 of the search form, descriptions of four collections of Knox County marriage records located in the Kentucky State Archives at the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives are retrieved.
