Job Duties: |
-Coordinate and teach programs and classes enabling patrons to operate the equipment in the Digital Studio with minimal staff intervention. - Assist customers and staff with use of software and hardware in the Digital Studio. - Supervise and train a Digital Studio Assistant and serve as a resource for the Teen Tech staff. -Make recommendations on the purchase of equipment, software and materials for use in the Digital Studio. - Hold customers accountable for following the LPL Code of Conduct and Internet Use Policy or refer to appropriate supervisory level as needed. - Maintain all equipment in the Digital Studio including computers, scanners, video cameras and still cameras, audio and video digital recorders, and other equipment. -Utilize Library e-mail on a daily basis in order to stay informed about Library matters. -Respect the facility and work environment by keeping work area neat, handling minor clean-ups and reporting maintenance issues promptly and appropriately. - Other duties as assigned. |
Qualifications/Experience: |
-Must be proficient using and teaching the following software: Final Cut Studio (Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Motion 2, DVD Studio Pro,Compressor, Livetype)Adobe Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator -Must have the ability to use and teach the following software: Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Bridge, Flash, Acrobat 8, Contribute, GoLive,InDesign)Mini-DV Camcorder Digital Still Camera -Must have the ability to use or learn to use and teach the following equipment: Color Image Scanner Production and Studio lighting Audio Mixers (Field and Studio) -Work with the public for extended periods of time, maintaining a positive, pleasant demeanor and providing exceptional customer service. -Effectively supervise employees. - Work in a team-based environment and independently. -Write documents and handouts for lab software, hardware, and services. -Convey concise, accurate information to the public. -Coordinate the selection, installation and maintenance of the appropriate technologies for the studio. -Research and recommend ongoing technology upgrades and enhancements. -Some knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn and follow standard library procedures. -MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING Possession of a bachelors degree including or supplemented by graduate level course work related to the assignment and at least one year of experience in work related to the assignment; or any equivalent combination of experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience teaching technology is preferred. |
