Course Description

Usability testing helps system designers and developers understand how a Web site is being used and the effectiveness of the design and navigation features. This live online course will cover an overview of current issues in Web usability and user testing. We will also review some of the theories behind designing usable systems and practical solutions to building usable systems. In addition, there will be an overview of accessibility issues.
You will learn

  • Why usability is important
  • How to incorporate usability into your design process
  • Key elements of a usable site
  • An overview of user testing

Who Should Attend?

Staff responsible for the creation and maintenance of their library's website, and anyone interested in the usability and effectiveness of websites.

Technical Requirements for Live Online Classes:

Registration to this free of charge class is limited to two people from each library system. While this is an online class, it is live and there are only 20 "seats" available. If you were paying for this session it would cost $170. Registration will be accepted on a first come first served basis. The registration deadline is two weeks prior to the session.
