| Bookmobiles
Visit the Legislature On
Wednesday, February 11th, 2004, seventy Kentucky
Public Library Bookmobiles from all over the state
with 350 librarians, trustees and friends visited
the state capitol in Frankfort to encourage Kentucky's
legislators of the importance of library funding
for programs such as the Kentucky Bookmobile Program,
celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The
assembly featured parades, events, bookmobile
tours and meetings with members of the Kentucky
General Assembly as well as First Lady Glenna
Fletcher. The day ended with citations to 83 bookmobile
librarians on the floor of the House and Senate
Chambers.
