Bookmobiles Visit the Legislature

On Wednesday, February 11th, 2004, seventy Kentucky Public Library Bookmobiles from all over the state with 350 librarians, trustees and friends visited the state capitol in Frankfort to encourage Kentucky's legislators of the importance of library funding for programs such as the Kentucky Bookmobile Program, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The assembly featured parades, events, bookmobile tours and meetings with members of the Kentucky General Assembly as well as First Lady Glenna Fletcher. The day ended with citations to 83 bookmobile librarians on the floor of the House and Senate Chambers.
