Searching the State Library Catalog for Computer Materials
“I have to create an organizational chart. Do you have manuals on Visio?”
(1)
Use “Combination Search”
(2) Type search term such as the software name (ex. visio, microsoft access…)
or document type (ex. spreadsheets, word processing…)
(3) Search in: “Subject”
(4) Press Enter or click “Search”
“I’m expected to maintain a spreadsheet but don’t know enough about Excel. Are there videos I could watch at my desk?”
(1) Click “Quick Limit Search” tab

(2) Type search term (phrase in quotes “_”)
(3) Choose Quick Limit: “Video Recordings”
(4) Select “Keyword or “Phrase” Anywhere”
(5) Press Enter or click “Search”

“…but I don’t have a video player to use at my desk.”

How can I find interactive CDs I can use at my desktop?
(1) Using Combination or Quick Limit search, click on “set limits” button.

(2) Location: select “Audiovisual”
(3) Medium: select “Computer file”
(4) Click “Set Limits”
(5) Perform Combination or Quick Limit search as usual.
