Large Print Book Collections
Regular Circulating Collections
Large type books have print that is enlarged to make reading easier for persons with vision disabilities. The State Library provides collections of large type books to interested county public libraries. Each collection contains seventy books, including recent and classic fiction, mysteries, westerns, romances, and nonfiction. Libraries may request up to six collections at a time.
Public libraries interested in participating in this program should contact the State Library's Circulation Desk at (502) 564-8300, ext. 337 or toll free at (800) 928-7000, ext. 337.
Large Print Book Discussion Kits
The State Library also has multi-format kits that promote reading in senior members of the community, such as senior center groups, assisted living residences, and nursing homes. Each kit is packaged in a sturdy wheeled bag and contains the following: 15 copies of a large print book, an audiobook (either a cassette or CD), and a discussion guide.
Large Print Book Discussion Kits may be checked out for a period of 35 days. Discussion kits check outs may be renewed for two weeks.
