Driving Directions

Arriving From the West: (Louisville)

  • Travel on US 64 East. Get off at Exit 53B.
  • Cloverleaf around to U.S. 127 North.
  • In less than a mile (third traffic light) you will make a right turn at State Route 676 , Veterans Memorial Drive, also known as the East-West Connector.
  • You will drive over the Kentucky River. Watch for a green sign that says Libraries and Archives with an arrow pointing right. This is Coffee Tree Road.
  • Continue 1/4 mile up the hill on Coffee Tree Road. You will see the Department's building.
  • Make a right turn at Vernon Cooper Lane. Parking is in front of the building.

Arriving From the East: (Lexington)

  • Travel on US 64 West. Get off at Exit 58 (US 60, Versailles Road). Take a right turn at this exit.
  • In one mile you will make a left turn at State Route 676, Veterans Memorial Drive, also known as the East-West Connector.
  • Travel three miles and you will see a green sign that says Libraries and Archives with an arrow pointing left.
  • Turn left there and go around the curve and up the hill. You will see the Department's building.
  • Make a right turn at Vernon Cooper Lane. Parking is in front of the building.

Arriving From the North:

Frankfort may be accessed from the north via State Routes 127 and 421. Many travelers will prefer taking US Interstate 75 south and connecting with US 64 west (See above directions for arriving from the East).

Arriving From the South:

Travel north on State Route 127 (See above direction for arriving from the West). Many travelers will prefer taking US Interstate 75 north and connecting with US 64 west (See above directions for arriving from the East).
